Roasted Turkey & Pumpkin Pie Dreams

So...I am alive. Thank you to those that have emailed me, inquiring about this fact. You make me feel loved. :) Life is good here. As usual, I'm staying very busy which tends to mean less blog updates.

School is going great. This quarter has turned out to be A LOT tougher than I thought, but I love how much more involved I'm getting. I made it through my math competency test and midterm in Pharmacology. Sometimes I think my head might explode with everything that I'm learning in that class, but it is completely fascinating at the same time. My Hematology class is also going well. I did really well on my midterm in that class, so YAY for that! I've also been going in an extra night at school each week to practice blood draws. Dogs are pretty easy for me, but cats intimidate me for some reason. But, I'm told it's the same old adage: practice makes perfect.

School is flying by. I've already registered for next quarter! It wasn't without some major stress about crappy schedule changes first (meh), but I'll be taking Parasitology, Small Animal Nutrition & Nursing, and Production Animals next quarter. Production Animals! EEEEE! I'm so excited for that class! I love dogs and cats (except for my mom's cat, of course! :P), but large animals are so much more interesting to me. Only two more quarters and I'll be signing up for EQUINE! WOOT! I'm hoping to get on a at large animal hospital starting in January. I'm planning on volunteering on Saturdays and then hopefully some late-night ER stuff when the opportunity arises. It will definitely pack my schedule with full-time work and school already in play, but oh well...I'll sleep when I'm dead, right? :}

Miss Lola Grizzle is her old, plucky self. Awww...I love me some Lola. :) I try to spend every free moment I can manage with her. I worry sometimes that my schedule leaves her feeling neglected, but she seems quite content with life right now. I think she actually enjoys it, because my guilt tends to lead to extra dog biscuits and more time for her to sleep in my (read: her) bed. HAHA!

So that is life as of late. Thanksgiving is tomorrow. YUSSS! My favorite holiday! Once again, I have so much to be thankful for. For one, I'm thankful to be tired. HA! As much as I love sleep, I love even more that I have the opportunity to work which allows me to enrich my life with school, pay for a warm place to live and keep food in my belly. I'm also thankful for my family. I don't know what I'd do if my mom wasn't around to let me freak out every once in a while and then calm me back down, a dad that makes me feel safe and supported without even saying anything, and a brother that provides nonstop comedy relief. Oh and Lola Grizzle. She keeps me sane and entertained, and she is my family. Puh-puh-puh-puppy faaaace! Also, my friends. I don't get to spend as much time with them anymore, but they're always welcoming and they are sometimes the best form of stress release this girl could ask for! I have so many more things I could add to this list like caffeine, the amazing men and women in uniform that fight for our freedoms, and new Miranda Lambert music (HAHA!), but I think my blog post is already waaay too long.

I hope everyone has a super fabulous Thanksgiving! May you and your family be blessed with roasted turkey and pumpkin pie dreams! Loves to all! xoxoxAC
