Happy Halloween!

Sorry for the lack of posts - life has been kinda crazy the last couple weeks...err...month! I'll post updates soon, though!

I just wanted to quickly share two funny things, though. For Halloween tomorrow, my team is doing a 'Movie Theme'. Each pod is decorating and dressing up as a different movie. There's "Sex & The City", "Night of the Living Dead", "Juno", and "Dead Presidents". Oh and our pod is doing "First Wives Club"! HAHA! We're hanging movie posters, putting up props and dressing up like the characters. My podmates and I are gonna go all out with lots of jewelry, fake money and champagne glasses everywhere. AND...I also made this movie poster with our faces photo-shopped:

Tomorrow night, I'm going to a friend's house for a party! YAY! I've decided to go as white-trash-erific Britney Spears! LOL! In all reality, I'll admit that I totally love Britney. Anyways, I'm dressing up, complete with (fake) baby, Cheetos bag, Starbucks coffee, ripped fishnets, fedora... My mom also helped me make a levi skirt out of jeans and a sparkly-writing t-shirt. "It's Britney, Bitch!" HEHE! Should be good times FO SHO! Here's a pic of my inspiration:I'll post pics of all the fun! I hope everyone has a Happy Halloween!!! :D

Oooo, Corn Maze!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Primm/Vegas Quotes

Funny quotes from the trip...

*knock*knock* “EEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!”
--Katie decided it was funny to knock on random people’s doors at the hotel. And yes, we were drunk. This particular quote came after she knocked on my mom and Staci’s door then took off running at turbo speed. We were later informed that out speed wasn’t so turbo, as Staci saw and heard us rounding the corner laughing and trying to run drunk.

“F*ck you, KATIE!”
--Drunk me, making fun of Katie as I almost ripped my suitcase off the table and fell over.

“…Bobby…Bobby…Bobby…Baby Jesus…Bobby…” (repeat X 100)
--Katie and I, drunk and trying to remember Ricky Bobby’s name from “Talladega Nights”. We knew he liked Baby Jesus and he had “Bobby” in his name and that was pretty much all we had going for us. LOL!

“Ummm…I don’t have any pants on…”
Drunk Katie stating the obvious, as she stood on top of her hotel bed…with no pants on.

“It’s like we’re thinking the SAME THING!”
--Okay, so I didn’t really say this. I just thought it would’ve been funny to say it after Miranda Lambert told me we should be friends because of our love for cute shoes and deer hunting. Lucky for me, I kept my mouth shut so security wouldn’t have to be called. LOL!

“F*CK! We smelled like hot dogs and we forgot our cameras!”
--Mine and Katie’s sad realization that we smelled of giant $1.00 hot dogs and didn’t have a camera after we ran into Miranda Lambert’s band.

“FOREVERR. FOREVERRRRRR. *look at Katie* FOREVERRRRRRRRRRRRRR.”
--Me telling Staci the name of Chris Brown’s song. “Sandlot” was not lost on me. LOL!

Vegas Weekend Recap

Well I'm back from Primm/Vegas and glad to be! Vacations rule, but coming home to my own bed and The Grizzle makes me super happy too. I had sooo much fun hanging out with my mom, aunt Staci and Katie, though. :)

My mom, Katie and I left at about 8 AM on Friday morning and met up with Staci in Salina. After stopping for gas, food and WalMart (no trip would be complete!), we arrived in Primm about eight hours later. Primm is a small casino-town on the Nevada/California border. We stayed at Buffalo Bill's casino - home of the what-used-to-be the world's tallest roller coaster and the world's biggest buffalo-shaped pool. Yeah...I'm not making that up. LOL! This being a girls-only trip, we immediately hit the outlet stores to shop! Yeah! It was more of a mini-mall with a food court in a neighboring casino, but we still managed to find some good deals. After shopping, Katie and I decided to partake in some awesome Nevada beer and hit the casino. After way too much beer (and maybe some vodka...), we both lost about $50 gambling, went for a walk around the casino, and then retired to our room. The time? About 10 PM. WOOOOO! Party animals!! LOL!

Saturday morning we slept in and then headed down to the casino to find food. The casino was great in that it had a small food court in it too - unfortunately nothing opened until 11 AM. While we waited for food, my mom and I rode the roller coaster. It may not be the world's tallest anymore, but holy crap - it was still BIG! After screaming my face off down the initial drop-off, I laughed the rest of the time - mostly because my mom was laughing so hard! Lordie I love roller coasters! After we ate, we all headed down to the buffalo pool to enjoy the warm Nevada sun. The pool wasn't heated so it was a little chilly, but it still felt great while I swam back and forth, trying to figure out if a dude in a speedo was Ronnie Dunn from Brooks & Dunn. Because I wasn't sneaky enough to get a picture, we'll just say he wasn't. LOL!

After the pool, I started getting ready to meet MIRANDA LAMBERT! AHHHHH! I wasn't really nervous until I started getting ready for the night, but once I started getting all done up, freak-out set in! Although, I couldn't help but laugh at the fact that I was getting really, really dressed up to meet...a girl. LOL! I had to be down to the arena (which was conveniently hooked right to the casino) about an hour before the concert. After waiting in line (and staring at the older Blake Shelton groupies), they took us backstage (YEEE!) and lined us up to meet Miranda (AHHHH!). They had a little awning set up outside where she came out and stood under so they could take our pic with her. Thankfully my nerves settled down a little when I actually saw her and realized she was just a normal person - imagine that! LOL! When it was my turn, I walked up and she told me she really liked my shoes - the leopard-print high heels have never let me down! I told her we'd drove down from Utah and were super excited for the concert. She signed a card thing for a picture frame I made and my camo hat. When I told her it was my deer hunting hat, she said, "A deer-hunter that wears cute shoes - we should be best friends!" My reply: smile like an idiot and nod! LOL! With a last - "Thanks for coming and enjoy the show!" - it was over. It went really, really fast, but it was still great to meet Ran. She was super nice and sooo cute in person! I'll be a Ran Fan forever!

After the Meet & Greet, I booked it back to the room to meet up with the girls for the concert!! Ran opened the show and yeah...SHE ROCKS! I haven't seen her in concert for about two years, so to say that I was excited would be an understatement! She played a few songs, then left and Blake Shelton came out. I've read interviews and seen videos, so I knew BS had a great sense of humor, but yeah - he was hilarious!!! When someone opens a show saying, "I won't lie - I have been drinking tonight! Get your cameras ready as my big butt goes down these stairs!", well you just know it's gonna rock! LOL! After his set, he and Miranda did a little acoustic set together, sitting on stools on the front of the stage, just playing their guitars and singing. LOVED IT! Ran then came back out and did some more songs, then BS came out and did some more, then they closed the show together with, "The South's Gonna Do It Again". When I first heard about the format of the show, I was a little put off, but I have to say that I loved that it wasn't just the regular opener & closer. It was an AWESOME show!! Oh...I should mention that before the show even started, an old man jabbed me in the back WITH HIS CANE when I stood up to take a picture. Yeah...I about went postal on a geriatric! If the dude would've just asked me to sit down, then no worries. BUT HE POKED ME WITH HIS CANE! GRRR! Lucky for him, he and his wife left. I was able to still enjoy the show after that. :)

After the concert, me, myself and I decided it was time to drink some more awesome Nevada beer. Katie, being a hungover wuss, let me do that alone. LOL! After we gambled some more (and won a little money!), we grabbed a delicious $1.00 hot dog from the bar. We decided to head out back behind the casino to stare at Ran & Blake's buses and see if anybody was out milling around. On the walk back, we realized we didn't have a camera but figured it wouldn't matter since nobody would be out, right? Well no one was out. We stood by the fence while we ate our hot dogs, waved to the bus drivers, then headed back into the casino. Right when we walked through the back doors, BAM! MIRANDA'S BAND - Aden (bass player), Alex (electric guitar) and Chris (keyboards)!!!!! Fueled by alcohol and hot dog, I walked up and said hi! They were all sooo cool! They shook our hands, made a point to find out our names and complimented Katie's hair. We chatted for a few minutes with them before other people noticed them and came up for pictures. Yeah...we didn't have our cameras. :( But, they were all really awesome and it was fun to meet and talk with them!

Sunday we headed back into Vegas to play on the strip. We spent the afternoon walking the strip, shopping at the mile-long mall, and checking out the Coke & M&M stores before heading to our hotel. We were going to go swim, but we were all pretty tired so we took a nap before we headed back to the strip again. We went and had dinner at a fancy sandwich restaurant at the Mirage. These sandwiches were boasting some serious MEAT! After that, we headed to the Emporium to get some delicious dessert at the Cheesecake Factory. I'm just going to mention how smart we all are here and how it only took us about EIGHT tries to find the freakin' entrance to the shops. YEESH! We got our cheesecake to go and headed over to the Bellagio fountains and just stood to stare for about a half hour. I love the fountains. I don't know how anybody couldn't. The water, the lights, the music, the beautiful, lit-up building behind them...I can't help but to just sit and stare in awe every time! We headed back to our hotel around 10 PM. Katie and I had planned on gambling that night, but three days of playing took it out of us and we crashed.

We came home on Monday. The trip home only took us about six hours this time. We were all pretty tired and just ready to get home. I took a lot of pics, but I'm still trying to re-group so I'll post them in a few days - in the meantime, thank Lou for letting me steal these.

I had sooo much fun! Meeting Miranda was great, but hanging out and laughing my butt off with the girls all weekend was the best!! I hope we can do another trip like this again!

TOMORROW: VEGAS & RAN!!!

YAY! It's finally here! I started planning this trip back in JULY and it's finally here! WOOT WOO! The girls are packin' up and headin' to LAS VEGAS tomorrow morning!! Oh and did I mention I'm going to meet MIRANDA LAMBERT?!?! HAHA! WOOOO! I hope everyone has a super fabulous weekend! VIVA LAS VEGAS!

Week Thirteen

YAY! I lost 3.8 pounds last week! WOO! Technically, it was 1.2 from my previous low, but yeah...I'm back down and even below from before I went on vacation. I'm trying to be good this week before I head out to Vegas (VEGAS!!!). My goal in Vegas is to not gain. Hopefully I'll be able to eat what I want (somewhat...I'm not going all out), but keep that in check with walking and swimming. I'm also packing healthy snacks to keep in my purse while I'm there and for the drive...if I'm gonna cheat, it's gonna be at the Cheesecake Factory - not a car. After Vegas, it's back to work hard-core again...I'm hoping to make my goal of losing 25% of my original weight by the end of the year. New Year...New Me. :)

Meeting Ran!

I just realized that I haven't posted this yet... I GET TO MEET MIRANDA LAMBERT! AHHH! I was able to get a backstage "Meet & Greet" with her at the concert on Saturday night! YAY! With the help of my super-cool uncle J-Lo (Jeremy), I made a cool picture frame thing for her to sign. I get to go backstage, get an autograph, get my picture taken with her and yeah...meet Miranda! I'm really excited, but super nervous. I've already tried to figure out what to say to her, besides the fact that I think she's the coolest chick on the planet and her awesome music is best played LOUD! HAHA! I'll post pics of the picture frame and my pic with her! WOO! MIRANDA LAMBERT!!!!!! :D

Week Eleven-Twelve

I didn't go to a meeting last week since I was out of town, but I went last night. I gained two pounds. Yuck. Yeah it sucks, but it's not the end of the world. I ate bad last week while I was camping and down in Monticello so it was somewhat expected. I also wore more clothing last night since I had other errands to run, instead of my usual sweat pants and take top. I'm back on the plan, though, and plan to be good until Vegas next week. YAY - Vegas! Miranda! WOO! Anyway, walking shoes and swimming will definitely be incorporated in that trip. Like the girl said to me last night: "You can't always be perfect. What matters is that you keep trying and get back to the plan". Amen.

Grandma Lou's 70th Birthday

On Thursday, the day after I got home from hunting, I went to Monticello with my mom and my aunt Gay. We went down to surprise my Grandma Lou for her 70th birthday! All of her kids (the aunts & uncles) got her matching pearl jewelry - ring, necklace & ring! Of course, my gift of a pedicure gift certificate really knocked her socks off! LOL! Riiiiight. It was a fun weekend, though. I always love going to Monticello to see my family and of course...the baby cousins! :)

Happy Birthday, Grandma Lou! I love you!

Deer Hunting 2008

Deer hunting in October is always one of the best camping trips - this year was no different! My dad, Zach and I went up early (EARLY) Sunday morning and came home on Wednesday. Zach's friend, Cuyler, that he went to CEU with, met us up there and stayed in the trailer. I took my glorious tent up to use, but Uncle Bob had his wall tent set up and it was empty for the week so I made awesome use of it. Evan was the only person that got a deer. The deer were pretty sparse this year. With the bad winter, we mostly saw all does. We did manage to see some bucks the last night, but never got a shot at them. The food was great!! Who doesn't love camping food?!?! HAHA! I went up with the intentions to eat really well, but after waking up really early and hiking and chopping wood and everything else, I had an apetite like no other! I at least ate better than my old self would have. Honorable mentions of the trip:

  • Camping breakfasts! Homemade garlic sausage, bacon galore, HASHBROWNS (Lord, I love me some potatoes!), chili verde... MMMMM!
  • Chopping wood! We cut a bunch for next year's camp trips and it was pretty dang fun! Being in the mountains, the smell of fresh pine, the warm sun, CHAINSAWS! WOO!
  • Kent McLaughlin and his son's campfire stories and shenanigans. Holy crap! They're so dang funny! Zach, Cuyler and I stayed up way later than planned just so we could listen to them!
  • Zach & Cuyler. Zach. Cuyler. I love those two. I pretty much had two little brothers this trip. Funny kids!
  • Road-hunting with Uncle Jerry! He was all about me getting a little buck, but said he'd have to beat me to the shot for a big one, though. LOL! I told him I'd have my dad hold his gun while I ran around the truck for the deer, while kicking his shins in the process. Hey - I wanted a deer!
  • Hanging out, cooking, and hunting with my dad. As I get older, I realize how much I enjoy his company more and more. He won't let on, but he's one of the funniest and smartest guys that I know. :)
  • Me sitting on top of a mountain, alone, loaded gun, white t-shirt, waiting for deer. LOL! Zach & Cuyler took off to flush out some deer, while my dad popped away to spot them. That left me...alone...to hunt. Yeah. Having never shot a deer and being left alone to figure it out...good times, good times. I couldn't help but look around and laugh at myself at that moment. I guess I was gonna find out if all my hunting teachings would pan out. Too bad the deer thought otherwise. ;)

I can't wait until next year! Here are some pics from the trip...

I got back to work today with 268 emails. No joke.

I promise to post pics from last week's vacations tomorrow.

And now back to emails... :)
