Well I hope everyone had a great Christmas! I know I did! I was able to spend some time with my family and friends. Honestly, that's my favorite part of the holidays. Seeing my cousins, going to our annual Christmas Eve party with the gang, singing karaoke on Christmas day at the Highlander, and just enjoying a lazy Christmas morning with my parents and brother are what makes me smile the most! Although, I have to mention some of the lovely loot I got hooked up with this year! My parents outdid themselves again with a cute new bedspread, running shoes, gas & grocery gift cards, new pj's and lots of other goodies. Oh and my mom got the family a Wii! YAY! We spent Christmas day having bowling tournaments. And yes, I kick ASS at bowling! My friend, Katie, surprised me with a pink/camo hat from the Miranda Lambert store! AHHH! I was so excited to get this! Oh and Zach bought me the new Miranda Lambert hoodie too! WOOO! They're both super cute - I LOVE them! My friend Adrien brought me back three pashminas (scarves) - two from India, one from Thailand. They're so beautiful! And last, but definitely not least, my parents got me a veterinary stethoscope! EEEEEE! I knew this was coming, but dammit I was excited when I opened it! It's one of the best ones out there and should last a really long time! I spent most of the day listening to Lola's and everyone else's heartbeat! I'm happy to report we're all alive and breathing! HAHA!
Speaking of stethoscopes and doggies, I start my actual veterinary courses on Monday, January 5th! YAY! As indicated in previous posts, I'm more than a little excited!!! HAHA! I also have two general courses - a total of 13 credit hours. I was only going to do 11, but there's a small 2-hour required credit course that I just want to get over and done with. After that, I'll have about 10-11 credit hours per quarter which should definitely be manageable with my job. I just figure for the next three months, there won't be a lot going on so I'm just going to buckle down and get through this quarter. Although, if you don't see or hear from me too much in the next little while, you now know why!
I'm looking forward to New Year's Eve tomorrow. I'm not sure what I'll be doing yet... It's either a home-cooked delicious dinner, "Assassin's Creed" on xBox (YEAH!) and an early bed time...or...a party with the friends. I honestly have never really loved New Year's Eve parties. It's just another party. My favorite New Year's was in Mexico with my family and our close friends, but yeah...I was in Mexico and there was free champagne! HAHA! Whatever I decide, I'm looking forward to 2009 however I ring it in - sleeping or screaming! :D
This last year has been a magnificent one. I started the year out being totally encompassed by another person and had visions of my life heading in a certain direction. However, it didn't work, my heart was broke and I was sad. It took me about six months of lonely country songs, a little anger and a lot of humor to start looking at other boys again. I sometimes still find myself wishing for a simple text or quick phone call, but my sick sense of humor can only think, "Thanks for the tent, bitch!" BUWAHAHA! I also managed to find my way back to something I grew up dreaming about: working with animals. I have no idea where this choice is ultimately going to take me, but the anticipation is an amazing feeling! I moved out of Girl World this year and into a place of my own, only to end up living with my baby brother again. On top of all of that, I started this blog, lost 38 pounds and met Miranda Lambert! YEAH! This year has been so incredibly trying, busy, and sometimes a little scary, but of course (and always)...absolutely messy and beautiful. :)

Just a little 'ol update...
I don't know why, but it feels like ages since I've posted anything on here! I really don't have anything exciting to report, but I figured I'd let everyone know what's been going on.
First, I'm done with this quarter! YAY! I had a little drama in trying to take my Biology final last night, but it got worked out and I finished up all of my finals. I'm pretty confident that I got A's in both of my classes! WOOHOO! I'm going to return my books tonight and pick up a few new ones. I'm still sooo stoked that I need scrubs, a stethoscope and veterinary dictionaries next quarter! HAHA! I'm so bloody excited to start my vet medicine classes!
Second, I've decided to give up WW meetings and join the gym. I'm a little skeered because the meetings have been positive and obviously helped me, but I feel like the gym is the way to go right now. With the weight I've lost in the last four months and my new eating habits, hopefully I'll just continue to be successful...and eventually HOT! HAHA! I'm going to continue to post my weekly updates on here - not only because it's somewhat of an accountability factor for me, but I've also enjoyed going back, reading past thoughts on the whole thing, and essentially re-inspiring myself! I'll probably make Thursday my official post day for updates. Viva La Resistance!
Last, Christmas Break! YAY! I got word yesterday that my San Francisco cousins are coming home early. Unfortunately, it's not for good reasons, but they'll be here nonetheless. I'm really excited to spend some time with them. I also have birthday parties, Christmas parties and some other fun things coming up, so that should be fun. I'm postponing making a quilt for my bed right now. It's just a lot of work and I don't want to stress about getting it done before I start school again in January. But, hopefully I'll get my apron done and some good cooking in to fulfill my inner domestic diva ways!
I hope everyone is having a lovely holiday season! It snowed a ton here over the weekend and it doesn't look to be stopping any time soon! It's a pain, but it's beautiful too. Here's to hoping for a White Christmas!!

Decisions...
I am wrestling with a decision right now. Things have been going well on the eating front, but I haven't been to a WW meeting for three weeks. Holidays, school stuff...you know how it goes. Here's the thing: do I give up WW and join the gym? I unfortunately cannot do both. WW is about $36/month; the gym would be about $30/month. I am not doing anything on the exercise front right now. I take Lola for the occasional short walk, but that's pretty much it. My eating has rocked lately, though. Of course I could always do better (who couldn't?!), but compared to my old eating habits, I'm doing really, really well. I don't eat out anymore, I eat every 2-3 hours, I only drink diet drinks, I track everything I eat, and I watch my portions. I think that's the biggest: watching my portions! More than anything, my subconscious is now constantly screaming, "ONLY ONE! YOU ONLY NEED ONE SCOOP! STOP! ONLY A HALF PIECE!" LOL! It's true. I eat (almost) anything I want, but I eat less of it. If I want some of my mom's "Hell-in-a-Handbasket Pasta", I eat some. But, I only eat ONE reasonable scoop and I DON'T throw on extra cheese. If there's biscuits, I eat ONE HALF of a biscuit. Yeah I want two scoops and three biscuits, but I've come to understand that some is better than none. BUT...I'm in no way to the end-point of developing a perfect eating habit. Honestly, I know it's something I'll have to work on the rest of my life. I mean who doesn't?
I'm obviously leaning towards giving up WW meetings and joining the gym, but well I wouldn't be the little blogger I am today without hammering it out on here! HAHA! I have all of the materials and the knowledge of WW, but I'll be giving up the support. In trade, I'll gain the gym. I'm not going to pretend I'm about to become some little gym rat, but even if I only make it two times a week, I suppose that's better - at least it's better than right now. That little bit in combination with the WW food-tracking system.................... Hmmm.

Finals & Craftiness
I have two more weeks of school and I'm done for the quarter! YAY! My final research paper is due in English this week, followed by a final exam next week, and then I have a final exam for Biology next week. I'm sooo looking forward to starting my vet medicine classes next quarter! I got all of my books ordered last week. You can actually go through the school and they'll just add it into your tuition payments, but it's cheaper to buy them online through used stores or using online coupons. So I'm a little (read: a lot) broke right now, but it'll save me money in the long run. Oh and I have to buy scrubs! WOO! I'm really looking forward to the day when my work uniforms are comfy scrubs and tennis shoes instead of boring office attire. :D
After I finish up the quarter, I have about three weeks off from school. Depending on the money situation, I'm really hoping to make a quilt for my bed. I was going to buy one, but I'm a picky bitch and the only ones that I'm really liking are just too expensive. Plus, I found some cute quilt pictures online that I'm hoping to manipulate a little into something fabulous! Oh and I FINALLY want to make my apron! I didn't have time to get that done over the Thanksgiving break, so I'm super excited to do that!
Other than that, I'm just looking forward to Christmas! The cousins will be here from San Francisco, I get to meet my best friend's new fiance and I'll soon be sporting a disgustingly fabulous Christmas sweater! BHAAAA!

Fridays & Cupcakes!
In search of the PERFECT handbag!
I've been looking for a new handbag for a while now. I think I actually started looking back in October when we went to Vegas! What can I say? I just didn't have a lot of motivation to spend $50 for something that I didn't want to buy unless I loved it. Well, I got the motivation needed yesterday...as in I dumped a full cup of coffee into my old handbag! LOL! Yeah. Seriously...I should use sippy cups because I ALWAYS spill my drinks! For some weird reason, people that sit around me at work "just happen" to have extra napkins and paper towels around at all times! HAHA! Anyway, I found a really, really cute new handbag last night - and it was only $40! WOO! It's genuine leather with rhinestones and buckles and all sorts of lovely cowgirl-ie things! I don't know how boys cope...carrying around boring wallets and such! Variety, sparkles, color and rhinestones... Being a girl just rules! XD

Flirting again! WOO!
I feel the need to mention that I've been flirting with boys again. BUWAHAHAHAHA! I know, I'm a dork! I've just posted so many sad-song lyrics and I miss this idiot and blah, blah, blah... Getting over someone is just hard and plain sucks sometimes. Anyways, it's been fun and oh sooo lovely to be distracted by the opposite sex again. I don't really like anyone right now, but it's just nice to be distracted and laugh about little encounters that have occurred recently. And yes, I said encountersss - there's been a few. Yay on that! HAHA! :D

Thanksgiving Break Review
Well I definitely enjoyed my time off this last week. Thanksgiving was wonderful - it was just me, my mom, dad and brother. We ate some super delicious food and enjoyed our day. I seriously love my mama's food!
My mom and I worked on Christmas cards together and I got all mine done. They're not "Stampin' Up" cards, but they turned out really cute. I'm trying to decide whether or not to include a picture of me and Lola with the cards... LOL! Super cheesy? I can't decide. Other than the cards, I finished up the craft-makin' break by hemming up my brother's living room curtains. I feel the need to add that when I was hanging them up, I stepped the wrong way off the chair and the corner of the back jabbed my butt! HAHA! It's funny, but yeah...I cried...by myself. Oh and now I have an AWESOME ass bruise! MMMM! I'm looking forward to finishing up this quarter of school so I can make my own apron during my break.
Speaking of school, I have about three more weeks and I'm done with this quarter! YAY! It's went really well - I have an "A" right now in both of my courses! I'm really, really, REALLY excited to start my veterinary medicine classes next quarter, though!
Last but not least, I went and hung out in the desert by a bonfire last night. Good times, good times. Those of us that were too poor or had to work that couldn't make it to Moab this weekend, went out last night to the west desert, aka "Mini Moab". It was soooo fun! Crazy, but fun! We burned pallets last night and it was seriously so warm! I expected to freeze, but I walked around most of the night in a long-sleeve t-shirt. I also went out wheeling in a friend's jeep with my brother and another friend and yeah...we broke down. Well, we got a flat front tire. Needless to say, we limped back the two or three miles to camp on three tires and a rim (apparently rock crawler rims are only $50 bucks!) through the dirt. It was so stupid, but we laughed the entire way back - the WHOLE HOUR! HAHA! Nelly Furtado's "Maneater" song will never mean the same thing again! LOL! Lordie, I love my friends! :)
Oh also...CONGRATULATIONS SARAH!! My cutest ever friend is pregnant with her second baby! I'm so excited for her and her family. I'm also excited to make some baby blankets! WOO! Congrats, Sarah! :D

Turkey for You, Turkey for ME!
I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! I've had a lovely week off so far. I started on my craft projects! I finished the baby blanket yesterday and am underway on the aprons. Yes, I said apronsss! HAHA! My mom asked me to make her and our family friend, Gay, matching aprons for their annual stuffing-making-martini-drinking-pre-Thanksgiving-part-ay! HAHA! The aprons are turning out really, really cute, but they're also a PAIN! My fingers hurt like a mo-fo from sewing the apron ties and then turning them inside out. My fingertips are seriously raw and my fingernails are lifting! AHH! I love you, Mom! LOL!
Other than that, I'm just looking forward to Thanksgiving tomorrow. Next to Halloween, Thanksgiving is probably my favorite holiday. I love hanging out with my mom and helping out with dinner. I love the smell of the house with all of the good food cooking. It's all just so lovely and familiar. I only live about twenty minutes away from my parents, but my brother and I have both said it many times: "There's nothing like going home". I have so many things to be grateful for...so many that I could fill this blog with a massive list for the rest of my life. I'll just say that I'm so thankful for my wonderful family. I love them more than anything in this world. I don't know how to explain it, but I just feel so secure in this life knowing they're here and they love me. I'm also thankful for my extended family and friends - pretty much one in the same. My extended family rules! I love hanging out with them! And my friends...they shake life up and keep things fun. I'm so grateful to live in this country and have the opportunity to earn a living. I'm very, very lucky in this life and I hope to never forget that.
I love you all! Happy Thanksgiving! A.C. & Lola~xoxox
Happy Birthday, Dad!
Happy Birthday, Dad! Thank you for taking me fishing, teaching me how to shoot things, making the most delicious deer jerky, kicking Zach's ass at bowling, being Lola's hero, looking after Mom, and being smart, funny and the best Dad ever. Ever!
Happy Birthday! I love you a whooooole bunch, Daddy! :D

Work before Play...
Well I'm off work for the week. YAY! Unfortunately, gotta do some cleaning, homework and minor construction before I can do the fun stuff. Oh I'm also going to go see the "Twilight" movie again this week! HAHA! I want to see it again, sitting a little further back. What else? Hair tomorrow! Thank goodness...AC needs some color! I hope everyone is having a lovely Thanksgiving week! :D

For the Love of "Twilight"
I'm two cups of coffee down and...still tired. HAHA! The movie was great last night! We had reserved seating and the expected throng of screaming teenage girls wasn't all that bad. I don't want to spoil the movie in case anyone still hasn't read the books, but I'll just say that I really liked it. Of course no movie ever lives up to the book they're made after, but I thought they did a pretty good job. There were some really unintentionally funny parts and the guy that plays Edward...*swoon*! HAHA! I was a little skeptical at first - like everyone else, I had my own Greek God set up in my mind, but I thought the actor did a great job. He can stare longinly into my eyes and suck my blood any time! LOL! The girl that played Bella was AWESOME! But, I've really liked Kristen Stewart for a long time. So if you get the chance, whether you've read the books or not, you should go see the movie. Boo-yah for angst-y teenage romance! XD
Sarah: If you read this, you BETTER update your blog today! I'm excited to write lots of "EEEE's!" and "WOOO's" in your comments! HAHA! :D

All things "TWILIGHT"!
Tonight's the night! Going to see the new "Twilight" movie at exactly 11:59 PM!! Hell yeah! My cutie pie aunt Lou hooked me up with the new background...in honor of the awesome-ness of this book and the movie premiere! I'm really, really, really excited to go see the movie tonight...even if I'm gonna need two red bulls, a Coke, some Smarties and a caffeine IV to stay awake tomorrow at work! HAHA!
TWILIGHT! :D
Sewing Biotch
I have the three days before Thanksgiving off next week! YAY! I had planned to go out of town, but I'm in desperate need of a hair cut and color and the only day I could get in was next Tuesday. Seriously...two inches of re-growth right now! So...I'm staying home. Normally during the winter months I like to sew and make blankets, but I haven't had as much time with school this year. Anyways, I'm busting my butt to get my homework for this week AND next week done so I can be free next week to...BE CRAFTY! WOO! Here are the planned projects:
Baby Quilt!
One of the girls here at work is having a baby in February. I've made quite a few quilts for friends, so I thought it'd be fun to make her a little one.
Christmas Cards!
My cute friend, Sara Lizbeth, had a Stampin' Up party last week and we made Christmas cards! It was so fun! I didn't end up ordering anything from the party since I'm trying to put most of my $$ towards school...although trust me - I could've easily spent a small fortune on all the fun stuff! But, the party did inspire me to make my own Christmas cards and send them out. It turns out my mama has a ton of fun stuff so I'm going to give it my best attempt to make some cute ones this year. If you get a paper plate with scribbles and pretty stickers on it this year...well, you're welcome. ;)
11.19.2008
Things to love.
Okay. Despite being a little cynical about love and slightly frustrated about my ass right now, these are things that I love very much today...
- A new hat in the Miranda Lambert merchandise store. Seriously...pink & camo?! I need one! :D
- Chips & sala. MMMMMM! Fresh salsa from The Store (yes, that's the actual name) and blue corn baked tortilla chips...delicious-ness galore!
- CoverGirl Wetslicks fruit spritzers lip gloss. I've never liked lip gloss (too sticky), but I love this stuff so much that when I go to buy it, I have secret thoughts about requesting boxes of it because I'm afraid they'll discontinue it! LOL!
- Lola Grizzle, Boo, Cletus, Poo-Face, Bubba...whatever. I love my little sidekick. :)
Thank God for lip gloss and puppies. :)
Week Eighteen
It's a day of poo-ey posts. I gained 0.2 pounds last week. Sucks. Granted, it's 0.2 pounds, but I haven't had a major down week in a long time so it's kinda frustrating. My baby brother convinced me last night that it's time to get back to the gym. I actually really like the gym, but I've been so hesitant about joining again since I have no idea what's going to happen with my life in the next couple months. I'm going to school half-time right now which still leaves me ample free time, but I'm starting full-time next quarter (January) - two in-class courses and two online ones. At the very least, I was convinced that only going once or twice a week is still better than nothing at all - that and the fact that I have a nagging (read: awesome) baby brother that will go with me and keep me motivated. I've made huge leaps & bounds in changing my eating habits the last couple months, so I guess this will be the next piece of the puzzle - the completed puzzle being WORLD DOMINATION! WOO! Just kidding...the end result being a skinny ass! So yeah...it was a minor gain week. Sucks. I'd just like to complete this post by bitching about double Biology homework this week, pompous-ass men that irritate the piss out of me and girls that put their makeup on in their car on the way to work (GAH!!). Pretty much all things deserving of a swift kick to the shin! LOL!
Still...VIVA LA RESISTANCE!

If the song fits...
It's been over six months since I last talked to Kentucky. I wish I could say that I don't ever think about him and that I've moved on, but truth is...he still manages to occupy a lot of my brain space (along with thoughts of squirrels, frozen corn and how I'm going to afford that super dresser from Ikea... HAHA!). I think the hardest part is that it just ended. I don't know what he's doing now and that hurts the most. I'm fine with things not going the way I had hoped...that's life - you can't make someone love with you. But not being able to keep the awesome friend I had (or I thought I had) just sucks. Especially when that friend promises you that no matter what...you'll always be friends. Yeah right. Anyway, my life is lovely and it rules - I have all sorts of things to keep me bouncing around like a little kid hopped up on Pixie Stix. I guess sometimes I just get a little melancholy. So during my temporary, sugar-free pity party, a song came to mind: Jamey Johnson's "Dreaming My Dreams With You". Jamey Johnson rules the cool school. His voice reminds me of a cross between Merle Haggard and Waylon Jennings and he seriously writes the most amazing songs. I bought his latest album a couple months ago and fell in love with it. This song is definitely one of my favorites - the lyrics just manage to hit home right now...
Jamey Johnson, "Dreaming My Dreams With You"
I hope that I won't be that wrong anymore,
And maybe I've learned this time.
I hope that I find what I'm reaching for,
the way that it is in my mind.
Someday I'll get over you.
I'll live to see it all through.
But I'll always miss,
Dreaming my dreams with you.
But I won't let it change me,
Not if I can.
I'd rather believe in love.
And give it away as much as I can,
To those that I'm fondest of.
Someday I'll get over you.
I'll live to see it all through.
But I'll always miss,
Dreaming my dreams with you.
Whoa. Calm Down.
I'm studying The Theory of Evolution right now for my Biology class. Exciting, I know. I had to tell Lola to calm down...
"Twilight" Movie!!! :D
*UPDATE: We are in fact going to the 11:59 PM screening of "Twilight" on Thursday night. WOO! Oh and yeah...I have to work the next morning. OUCH! Can you say Red Bull?! I'm still trying to decide what to wear! LOL! One of the girls is wearing a red scarf to symbolize a bloody neck! HAHA! Granted, there's no bloody necks in the books, but still...gotta show some love to the vampire phenom!

Miranda & George - CMA's
I watched the Country Music Awards last night. *yawn* Talk about a hella-long show! The show was three hours (too) long - they only handed out nine awards! The sound seriously sucked too! It was awesome to hear Miranda Lambert sing "More Like Her" on the show last night, though. Here are a few of my favorite pics...
George Strait performing on the show last night. Miranda is definitely right up there in my favorite artists, but George...awww George. There's no words. He's just George. I never get tired of his music - it's classic and familiar. It doesn't hurt that he's so damn cute too! :P

Week Seventeen
WOO! YAY! LOSE WEEK! HAHA! It's not much, but I lost 1.6 pounds last week. WOO! I also just found out that I got ONE HUNDRED PERCENT on my Biology midterm! AHHHHH! YAY! I was a little nervous! It was a short essay answer test and one of the questions kinda scared me. So yeah...good things happening right now! *happy dance*

Crazy-Busy & Beautiful
Alright. I know I've done nothing but spout off on how crazy my life has been lately, so I figured I’d clue everyone in on what’s been going on. The biggest thing: I went back to school! Crazy, huh?! I am going back to school to get my Associate's degree in Animal Science!! I grew up having an insane love for animals (thanks, Mama) and wanting to be a veterinarian. I did a two-year internship at a large animal hospital in high school, but ended up leaving for various reasons and doing something else. I really enjoy my office job I have now (and I'm good at it), but I really just miss science and math and all things furry. I had a brief moment where I looked into nursing programs, but then I remembered that all things human make me say, "YUCK!" So after some digging and research, I found a school that will take me back to what I truly love and grew up wanting. It's a little crazy being back in school and having to say things like, “Nope...can’t go out on Friday...have to study”, but I’m really happy with my decision so far.
So obviously a huge part of being back in school includes tuition. Yeah...no fun. In order to save money on rent, I moved in with my brother a couple weeks ago. Yeah, I know - I just moved a couple months ago!! GAH! Anyways, he was thinking about getting a roommate, so my lovely mama mentioned something to us and we decided to be roomies! It’s been pretty great so far! In all honesty, my brother is my best friend. I love the kid like no other and we get along pretty great. So Lola and I are living with Zachey Boy. It hurt financially to break my lease at my apartment that I just moved into, but it will save me a butt load of money in the long run. Zach’s very clean and super about making me a cup of coffee in the mornings! HAHA! The only thing we’ve scuffled on so far is brand-name vs. generic cottage cheese! LOL!
So that’s what’s been happening with A.C. and The Grizz. Life is crazy-busy and exhausting right now, but then again...it’s hopeful, exciting, and as always, beautiful. Here’s to hoping that in two years, Lola and I will be outta the city, living on a farm, working at a clinic and as always...gittin' dirty!

Buckles, Boots 'n Spurs!
I just realized that I never thanked my hottie Aunt Staci for my cute background! I know, I'm a little late. Anyways, it's very me! I love everything country - including hot cowboys! WOOT WOO! HAHA! She found this cute Western layout for me and helped me out with making my blog fun!
Thanks, Lou! I love you!! :)
Week Fourteen-Fifteen-Sixteen
Finally, right?! A post about Weight Watchers! What can I say? The last MONTH has been insane! I went hunting/camping, went to Monticello, started school, went to Primm/Vegas and moved. Yeah! CRAZY! All in one month! I feel like I'm FINALLY going to be able to breathe this week! Anyways, the week after we got home from Vegas, I went to WW...and...it wasn't good. Last week I didn't get the chance to go because I was still moving. I'm in the middle of mid-terms this week, but my mom convinced me that I at least needed to go and weigh in. So I managed to make it in last night. The number? Exactly the same as before my month-long crazy life started. YAY! I didn't gain! HAHA! I am a little disheartened that I didn't lose - that's a month that could have been another 10 pounds, BUT at least I didn't gain. I started this with the intention to be healthy and lose weight - no matter how long it took. So, the fact that I didn't gain is really, really awesome for me. Vegas was filled with a lot of good food, and Halloween... Halloween was really hard for me for some reason. I generally don't have a sweet tooth, but for some reason, I could not stop eating candy. I did okay with eating, but let's face it...I could have done better. It's all good, though. I'm back to tracking and bringing my food again. Here's hoping that next week is a "downer" week! :P

I know I'm being such a slacker with my blog right now, but life's been crazy. I feel like it might FINALLY slow down a bit this week. YAY!

Happy Halloween!
Sorry for the lack of posts - life has been kinda crazy the last couple weeks...err...month! I'll post updates soon, though!
I just wanted to quickly share two funny things, though. For Halloween tomorrow, my team is doing a 'Movie Theme'. Each pod is decorating and dressing up as a different movie. There's "Sex & The City", "Night of the Living Dead", "Juno", and "Dead Presidents". Oh and our pod is doing "First Wives Club"! HAHA! We're hanging movie posters, putting up props and dressing up like the characters. My podmates and I are gonna go all out with lots of jewelry, fake money and champagne glasses everywhere. AND...I also made this movie poster with our faces photo-shopped:
Tomorrow night, I'm going to a friend's house for a party! YAY! I've decided to go as white-trash-erific Britney Spears! LOL! In all reality, I'll admit that I totally love Britney. Anyways, I'm dressing up, complete with (fake) baby, Cheetos bag, Starbucks coffee, ripped fishnets, fedora... My mom also helped me make a levi skirt out of jeans and a sparkly-writing t-shirt. "It's Britney, Bitch!" HEHE! Should be good times FO SHO! Here's a pic of my inspiration:I'll post pics of all the fun! I hope everyone has a Happy Halloween!!! :D

Primm/Vegas Quotes
Funny quotes from the trip...
*knock*knock* “EEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!”
--Katie decided it was funny to knock on random people’s doors at the hotel. And yes, we were drunk. This particular quote came after she knocked on my mom and Staci’s door then took off running at turbo speed. We were later informed that out speed wasn’t so turbo, as Staci saw and heard us rounding the corner laughing and trying to run drunk.
“F*ck you, KATIE!”
--Drunk me, making fun of Katie as I almost ripped my suitcase off the table and fell over.
“…Bobby…Bobby…Bobby…Baby Jesus…Bobby…” (repeat X 100)
--Katie and I, drunk and trying to remember Ricky Bobby’s name from “Talladega Nights”. We knew he liked Baby Jesus and he had “Bobby” in his name and that was pretty much all we had going for us. LOL!
“Ummm…I don’t have any pants on…”
Drunk Katie stating the obvious, as she stood on top of her hotel bed…with no pants on.
“It’s like we’re thinking the SAME THING!”
--Okay, so I didn’t really say this. I just thought it would’ve been funny to say it after Miranda Lambert told me we should be friends because of our love for cute shoes and deer hunting. Lucky for me, I kept my mouth shut so security wouldn’t have to be called. LOL!
“F*CK! We smelled like hot dogs and we forgot our cameras!”
--Mine and Katie’s sad realization that we smelled of giant $1.00 hot dogs and didn’t have a camera after we ran into Miranda Lambert’s band.
“FOREVERR. FOREVERRRRRR. *look at Katie* FOREVERRRRRRRRRRRRRR.”
--Me telling Staci the name of Chris Brown’s song. “Sandlot” was not lost on me. LOL!
Vegas Weekend Recap
Saturday morning we slept in and then headed down to the casino to find food. The casino was great in that it had a small food court in it too - unfortunately nothing opened until 11 AM. While we waited for food, my mom and I rode the roller coaster. It may not be the world's tallest anymore, but holy crap - it was still BIG! After screaming my face off down the initial drop-off, I laughed the rest of the time - mostly because my mom was laughing so hard! Lordie I love roller coasters! After we ate, we all headed down to the buffalo pool to enjoy the warm Nevada sun. The pool wasn't heated so it was a little chilly, but it still felt great while I swam back and forth, trying to figure out if a dude in a speedo was Ronnie Dunn from Brooks & Dunn. Because I wasn't sneaky enough to get a picture, we'll just say he wasn't. LOL!
After the pool, I started getting ready to meet MIRANDA LAMBERT! AHHHHH! I wasn't really nervous until I started getting ready for the night, but once I started getting all done up, freak-out set in! Although, I couldn't help but laugh at the fact that I was getting really, really dressed up to meet...a girl. LOL! I had to be down to the arena (which was conveniently hooked right to the casino) about an hour before the concert. After waiting in line (and staring at the older Blake Shelton groupies), they took us backstage (YEEE!) and lined us up to meet Miranda (AHHHH!). They had a little awning set up outside where she came out and stood under so they could take our pic with her. Thankfully my nerves settled down a little when I actually saw her and realized she was just a normal person - imagine that! LOL! When it was my turn, I walked up and she told me she really liked my shoes - the leopard-print high heels have never let me down! I told her we'd drove down from Utah and were super excited for the concert. She signed a card thing for a picture frame I made and my camo hat. When I told her it was my deer hunting hat, she said, "A deer-hunter that wears cute shoes - we should be best friends!" My reply: smile like an idiot and nod! LOL! With a last - "Thanks for coming and enjoy the show!" - it was over. It went really, really fast, but it was still great to meet Ran. She was super nice and sooo cute in person! I'll be a Ran Fan forever!
After the Meet & Greet, I booked it back to the room to meet up with the girls for the concert!! Ran opened the show and yeah...SHE ROCKS! I haven't seen her in concert for about two years, so to say that I was excited would be an understatement! She played a few songs, then left and Blake Shelton came out. I've read interviews and seen videos, so I knew BS had a great sense of humor, but yeah - he was hilarious!!! When someone opens a show saying, "I won't lie - I have been drinking tonight! Get your cameras ready as my big butt goes down these stairs!", well you just know it's gonna rock! LOL! After his set, he and Miranda did a little acoustic set together, sitting on stools on the front of the stage, just playing their guitars and singing. LOVED IT! Ran then came back out and did some more songs, then BS came out and did some more, then they closed the show together with, "The South's Gonna Do It Again". When I first heard about the format of the show, I was a little put off, but I have to say that I loved that it wasn't just the regular opener & closer. It was an AWESOME show!! Oh...I should mention that before the show even started, an old man jabbed me in the back WITH HIS CANE when I stood up to take a picture. Yeah...I about went postal on a geriatric! If the dude would've just asked me to sit down, then no worries. BUT HE POKED ME WITH HIS CANE! GRRR! Lucky for him, he and his wife left. I was able to still enjoy the show after that. :)
After the concert, me, myself and I decided it was time to drink some more awesome Nevada beer. Katie, being a hungover wuss, let me do that alone. LOL! After we gambled some more (and won a little money!), we grabbed a delicious $1.00 hot dog from the bar. We decided to head out back behind the casino to stare at Ran & Blake's buses and see if anybody was out milling around. On the walk back, we realized we didn't have a camera but figured it wouldn't matter since nobody would be out, right? Well no one was out. We stood by the fence while we ate our hot dogs, waved to the bus drivers, then headed back into the casino. Right when we walked through the back doors, BAM! MIRANDA'S BAND - Aden (bass player), Alex (electric guitar) and Chris (keyboards)!!!!! Fueled by alcohol and hot dog, I walked up and said hi! They were all sooo cool! They shook our hands, made a point to find out our names and complimented Katie's hair. We chatted for a few minutes with them before other people noticed them and came up for pictures. Yeah...we didn't have our cameras. :( But, they were all really awesome and it was fun to meet and talk with them!
Sunday we headed back into Vegas to play on the strip. We spent the afternoon walking the strip, shopping at the mile-long mall, and checking out the Coke & M&M stores before heading to our hotel. We were going to go swim, but we were all pretty tired so we took a nap before we headed back to the strip again. We went and had dinner at a fancy sandwich restaurant at the Mirage. These sandwiches were boasting some serious MEAT! After that, we headed to the Emporium to get some delicious dessert at the Cheesecake Factory. I'm just going to mention how smart we all are here and how it only took us about EIGHT tries to find the freakin' entrance to the shops. YEESH! We got our cheesecake to go and headed over to the Bellagio fountains and just stood to stare for about a half hour. I love the fountains. I don't know how anybody couldn't. The water, the lights, the music, the beautiful, lit-up building behind them...I can't help but to just sit and stare in awe every time! We headed back to our hotel around 10 PM. Katie and I had planned on gambling that night, but three days of playing took it out of us and we crashed.
We came home on Monday. The trip home only took us about six hours this time. We were all pretty tired and just ready to get home. I took a lot of pics, but I'm still trying to re-group so I'll post them in a few days - in the meantime, thank Lou for letting me steal these.
I had sooo much fun! Meeting Miranda was great, but hanging out and laughing my butt off with the girls all weekend was the best!! I hope we can do another trip like this again!
